The Mentality of Absolute Batman.

Absolute Batman is a new version of batman created by Scott Snyder and Nick Dragotta. It takes a cool new spin on the beloved character and it makes it work.

The story consists of Bruce not coming from money like how he's known for in the mainstream, this version comes from a low income family who's father was a school teacher. Bruce in this storyline has been gifted with immense intelligence from a young age and wins a science fair where the prize is a free trip to the zoo. In this zoo a shooter comes in and shoots and kills his father locking the kids in a closet and sacrificing his life. Burdened by his trauma he swears to rid Gotham of evil. He then travels around the world with scholarships to try and achieve all the skills necessary in order to combat crime. This version of the Bat is absolutely brutal. This Batman looks like he ate the other Batman. This version is depicted a lot bigger and stronger, being around 6'4 and 300 pounds.

His mentality is to stop crime at all cost not caring about who or what gets in his way. He sees himself as a one man army and even when the odds are against him, even when it seems like theres no way he can escape, he always pulls through. Being driven by the pain of losing his father it's almost as if he enters that same closet in the zoo every time he puts on the cowl. In one of the first few issues there's a crime boss called Black Mask who offers Batman 200 million dollars to disappear for a week. Being tempted by this offer, thinking about all the good he can do with this money, all the gadgets and cars and computers, all the good he could achieve just by disappearing for a single week. Batman accepts then goes to meet up with Black Mask on a rooftop Black Mask then asks him what he did with the money and Batman says that he already spent it all. Then a light appears in the sky with a form of a bat symbol. Showing that he had burnt all the money to show him that he cannot be bought. He showed him that there are things in life that you cant bribe and shows you the heart of the character. No amount of money can buy his affinity for justice.

This character is the epitome of human innovation, strength, resilience and thirst for justice. He strives to become better every single day. If we could apply even a little bit of his mentality into our own lives we would be unstoppable just like he is. Absolute Batman is the myth made flesh: a man who carries the weight of a broken city on his shoulders, yet he never lets it crush his soul. He's not a hero because he wins but because he never gives up, he never stops fighting. In the end this isn't just The Dark Knight but the unbending will of Gotham made manifest. We could learn a lot from this hero.
