Mentality of Spider-Man

Image
Spiderman created by Stan Lee is one of the most loved characters in all of fiction. Today im going to be talking about the heart of the character and how we can apply this to our own lives.  Specifically, I'm going to be talking about The Amazing Spider-Man #34, written by J. Michael Straczynski and illustrated by John Ramita Jr.. Which I believe perfectly embodies the heart of the character. The context for this issue is that there's a new villain in town whose name is Marlun. He feeds off the life force of living beings, and he claims that Spider-Man is one of the purest life forms because of the spider that bit him, and he wants to take his life force. As they fought for hours, Spider-Man realized that there was nothing he could do to beat him. he punched and kicked him over and over, and he didn't even seem fazed by it at all. Marlun told Spider-Man, "I will not stop. I will not tire. And I will not die." After realizing that he cannot be beaten, Spider-Man d...

Created by Kentaru Miura and Koji Mori, it tells the tale of ambition, suffering, tragedy, rage, sacrifice, and hope.  It tells the story of Guts, who has a very, very traumatic childhood. During his teenage years, he starts working alone as a mercenary until he meets a group of bandits called The Band of the Hawks. Here, Guts meets their leader, Griffith. Griffith sees that Guts is an excellent swordsman and challenges him to a duel. After Griffith easily beats Guts, who had never lost before, Guts asks for a rematch after getting knocked out. Griffith accepts, but only if Guts loses the rematch; then, Guts would join The Band of the Hawks. Guts accepts and proceeds to lose. This is the beginning of his camaraderie with Griffith. Guts stays with these bandits for about 3 years total. Here they went on multiple missions, and Guts eventually became the captain of a group of them. Griffith is a very charismatic leader, very strate...

The Mentality of Absolute Batman.

Image
Absolute Batman is a new version of batman created by Scott Snyder and Nick Dragotta. It takes a cool new spin on the beloved character and it makes it work.  The story consists of Bruce not coming from money like how he's known for in the mainstream, this version comes from a low income family who's father was a school teacher. Bruce in this storyline has been gifted with immense intelligence from a young age and wins a science fair where the prize is a free trip to the zoo. In this zoo a shooter comes in and shoots and kills his father locking the kids in a closet and sacrificing his life. Burdened by his trauma he swears to rid Gotham of evil. He then travels around the world with scholarships to try and achieve all the skills necessary in order to combat crime. This version of the Bat is absolutely brutal. This Batman looks like he ate the other Batman. This version is depicted a lot bigger and stronger, being around 6'4 and 300 pounds.  His mentality is to stop cri...
